Signs & wonders

KYLE KOGUT

October 30 - December 12, 2026

On view at Red Giant, Signs & Wonders is a solo exhibition of new work by Kyle Kogut. Signs & Wonders presents a new body of sculptural drawings and floor sculptures by interdisciplinary artist Kyle Kogut. Borrowing its title from the biblical phrase describing miraculous events and divine manifestations, the exhibition considers the human impulse to search for signs and to connect images, histories, places, and objects into systems of belief.

Kogut’s work draws from religion, propaganda, conspiracy culture, horror films, ufology, televangelism, and the American landscape. Religious imagery, political rhetoric, folklore, popular culture, and domestic objects converge to form an unstable visual language that moves between the sacred and the secular.

The exhibition is informed by the persistence of belief in American life, from inherited religious traditions to contemporary conspiracy culture and the resurgence of white Christian nationalism. Rather than focusing on any single belief system, the work considers the images, symbols, and rituals that give these systems shape.

Throughout the exhibition, several works are physically connected by extension cords that plug into the gallery walls, linking the objects through a shared power system. Like a conspiracy theorist’s evidence board, the connections may reveal something meaningful or simply reveal our own desire to create order from chaos.

Signs & Wonders occupies the space between skepticism and faith, certainty and doubt, coincidence and meaning. The work asks what we see when we begin looking for signs, and what happens when we find them.
